Buying in Zofingen
Buying at auction with us is simple and secure. We hold two quality auctions a year, in spring and autumn, at our auction house in the old town of Zofingen. To bid, you simply register for the auction beforehand and then take part however suits you best: in the saleroom, where nothing beats the thrill of a live sale, on our online bidding platform or in our app, by telephone with one of our team members, or with a written bid left before the auction. Every lot is on display at our public preview in the week before the sale, where you can take a closer look at the lots that interest you.

How it works
How to bid
Register at the reception for a bidder number at least 30 minutes before your lot comes up for sale; new clients are asked to have an identity card ready. You will be given a bidding paddle, and can then take your seat and bid on the lots you have your eye on. If your bid wins, the auctioneer will ask for your paddle number, and you can pay for and collect your lot straight away.
Bid in real time on our online bidding platform, which you reach through our website, or in our app, before and during the auction. Register for the auction there first. We recommend setting your maximum bid before the auction starts; the system then bids on your behalf, only as high as necessary.
We call you shortly before your requested lot comes up for sale, and you bid live over the phone with a member of our team. Telephone bidding must be arranged at least 24 hours before the lot in question is called. Request a line via our bidding form or by email; your request is confirmed by email once we have verified it. We recommend leaving a written maximum bid as well, in case we cannot reach you during the sale. We do our best to provide a line in your preferred language.
If you know the most you are willing to pay, you can instruct us in writing to bid on your behalf up to that amount, excluding buyer's premium. We bid only as high as necessary to secure the lot. Send us your written bid by email or post by 12:00 on the Tuesday before the auction.

You can bid in the room, online, by telephone or in writing. All four require registration for the auction beforehand. In the room, simply register at the reception at least 30 minutes before the lot you are interested in. Telephone and written bids can be submitted via our bidding form or by email.
The hammer price is subject to a buyer's premium of 23%, plus 8.1% VAT on the premium. VAT is also charged on any additional services you request, such as shipping.
Example: on a hammer price of CHF 100, that is CHF 23 premium plus CHF 1.85 VAT, CHF 124.85 in total.
In cash in Swiss francs, by debit card at the auction house, or by bank transfer in CHF. Credit card payments are possible via a secure payment link on request, with a 4% processing fee; we do not accept PayPal. Payment and collection are due within 14 days of receiving your invoice. You can pay when you collect, though paying beforehand makes collection quicker.
Where possible, we ship suitable items ourselves. Shipping costs depend on the item and are charged according to the actual cost of packing, postage and insurance. Request a shipping quote by email at info@auktionshaus-zofingen.ch. Ideally before you bid, quoting the lot number, or after the sale with your bidder number. Processing takes at least 48 hours, and the first shipments leave one week after the end of the sale. For large, bulky or particularly fragile items we refer you to specialised packing and transport partners.
